Data network required for initial setup of course to obtain coordinates to facilitate course preview. Data or WiFi network required to synchronize data with iCloud. Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. GPS will be running in background while in Shot Logging mode in order to maintain current position for rapid range and elevation updates.
